Shine Interview is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

Scope of Policy

This policy  applies to your use of:

Shine Interview website and web based software (App), once you have downloaded or accessed a copy of the App onto your mobile telephone or handheld device (Device), collectively known as Services.

Any of the services accessible through the App (Services) that are available on the App Site or other sites of ours (Services Sites), unless stated that a separate privacy policy applies to a particular Service, in which case that privacy policy only applies.

This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you (the Data Subject), or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.

For the purpose of accessing the Services, the Data Processor is Shine Interview Limited. We are registered with the Information Commisioner’s Office (ICO) and comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

How we use your Information

Shine Interview operates software for the purposes of recruitment and selection on behalf of a named company (our Client), and as such, your information may be shared with that company. You will have previously given consent for the Third Party (our Client) to contact you regarding a recruitment process, for example by applying to a job application.

Unless in exceptional circumstances as described below, we do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to other Third Parties.

We use personal information to:

deliver services such as performing a video interview, for the purpose of screening a job application

provide notifications, updates and invitations on behalf of a company (our Client)

administer your account and provide a personalised experienced including

comply with any legal obligations,

notify you of changes to our services or terms,

improve our services,

monitor aggregate usage metrics, including number of users, time accessed and features used.

We store the following personal data:

  • email address
  • name
  • phone number
  • IP address
  • video content 

For the avoidance of doubt, we do not use or disclose your personal information for marketing or tracking purposes, as defined by The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR)

Disclosure of you Information

We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the Companies Act 2006.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.

If we or a substantial portion of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.

If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal or regulatory obligation or request.

In order to:

enforce or apply our Terms of Use, terms and conditions of supply and other agreements or to investigate potential breaches; or

protect the rights, property or safety of Shine Interview our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Cookies and Tracking Data

When you use our Service, we do not use cookies. We record your IP address to help us monitor your usage of the site and improve your experience. 

Data Security

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy. All personal information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers, and encrypted. Data is hosted in the UK, in ISO 27001 certified data centres.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access certain services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to us; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Retention of Data

We retain your personal data whilst you are using our services and for a period of up to 18 months from the point we have been passed your information by our Client or it has last been accessed. 

Following this period, all data will be permanently deleted.

Changes

Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by by e-mail OR when you next start the App or log onto one of the Services Sites. The new terms may be displayed on-screen and you may be required to read and accept them to continue your use of the App or the Services.

Continued use of the Services after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes.

Access to Information
